Has God Forgotten You?
Can you imagine how Noah felt. He had endured years of ridicule and derision. He was probably regarded as the village idiot and town clown. There was no sympathy for Noah. This was an immoral, evil society who had no place for God in their lives.
Do you ever feel that God has forgotten about you? Are there times when your prayers seem to hit the wall? And you feel totally isolated and God seems remote and unwilling and unable to hear your pleas?
Then the rain came. It was no longer a joke. Noah and his family, were rescued and all the mockers and deriders were silenced. Noah was justified
The Flood began. The fountains of the deep broke open, and the windows of heaven were opened. Rain poured for forty days and forty nights. The waters rose until every high hill on the earth was covered. Everything that lived on land perished in the raging floodwaters
The weeks and months went by. They were on the water all alone. It was now a year since they had seen or interacted with another human being. It was just Noah and his three sons and their families.
The heavens were silent, not a word from God, no assurance that they were on the right track. Would these waters ever recede? Would they ever be able to live a normal life on dry ground again. Surely Noah had cause to wonder, “has God forgotten about me.?”
The waters flooded the earth for one hundred and fifty days. And God remembered Noah and the animals on the Ark. The waters receded and the Ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat
Then God breaks through with the wonderful assurance, “I have not forgotten you…”
Maybe you have been through a rough time and your life seems to be falling apart. God has not forgotten about you. If it seems like a long time since you heard from God. He has not forgotten you. It matters to Him about you. He wants to play a part in your life. He wants you to enjoy the peace and satisfaction that comes from serving Him.
So if you have been through a flood and overwhelmed by the waters. Remember, God has not forgotten you.
Yet
Jerusalem says, “The Lord has deserted us;
the Lord has forgotten us.”
“Never! Can a mother forget her nursing child?
Can she feel no love for the child she has borne?
But even if that were possible,
I would not forget you!
See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. (Isaiah 49.14-16)

Wow thanku so much for sharing this profound word of truth.. It definitely feels like that sometimes but along comes the Holy Spirit and beautifully gently reassures one that I am not forgotten. How awesome is Our God indeed.
